"My Journey to the West" tells the story of Sun Wukong and Yang Jian, who were so angry during a duel that they accidentally traveled to modern Beijing. After a funny journey, the two accidentally broke into a theater where the drama "My Journey to the West" was being performed, and met the reincarnated Tang Monk, White Bone Spirit, Bajie, Yang Chan, and others. The "Journey to the West Family" formed by this used constantly happening hilarious stories to show the conflict between modern and ancient times, mythology and reality to the audience one by one.
