Overview
The Makai fight a secret war against the demon forces known as Horrors, evil creatures that manifest themselves through darkness to devour Humanity. On the frontlines are the Makai Knights, given the task of watching over a district and eliminating any Horrors that manifest there. GARO follows the tales of the Knights bearing the title of ‘Golden Knight Garo’, and their duty to vanquish the Horrors and protect Humanity from the darkness.

Leo abandons Kouga as he escorts an obnoxious elder Makai Priest to deliver a pelt.
Demon Sword
An ancient samurai makes a deal with a Horror and is resurrected in present day. He is in search of a worthy opponent and finds Rei, who reminds him of the Makai Knight he saw as a child.
Makeup
Kaoru and Kouga visit a play, with Kouga storming out before the end. After the show, the lead actor is killed by a Horror.
Secret
Kouga is off hunting a Horror and so Kaoru tags along on Leo's journey to find a Spirit Beast.
Howl
Kouga goes off to have all the evil ki cleansed from of him that has built up after each battle. After he returns, a Horror that can manipulate time appears and challenges the Golden Knight.
Fruit
Rei stumbles upon a car accident that left no bodies, which means a Horror must be involved. During his investigation, he finds a familiar face.
Wizard Water
After Kouga and Leo finish a training session, Zaruba spontaneously combusts. Kouga calls Jabi to help, who goes off to repair Zaruba, but the man in the red mask appears before her and attacks.
Reunion
Kouga and Leo get word that a Makai Knight has attacked another Makai Knight. The two set out to help a familiar face.
Brothers
During a run-in with a Horror, Kouga remembers the first time he encountered it during his training as a boy, and the friends he made at that time.
Mask
A Makai Knight is killed right in front of Rei and Leo says goodbye to Kaoru as she gets the final inspiration for her picture book. Rei and Kouga go hunting for the creature that killed a Makai Knight when they find the man in the red mask, and his identity soon becomes known.
Red Brush
Rekka appears to help Kouga deal with a Horror. However, the Horror has decided to go through Kaoru instead.
Beast Herd
Kouga wants to figure out if Leo really is Red Mask; Makai Priests all over are turning on the Makai Knights.
Paradise
It turns out that Leo is actually a Makai Knight. So who really is Red Mask?
Train
The Makai Knights are all torn between giving up their armor and fighting Sigma, who has commandeered a train to the moon.
Stronghold
Sigma captures Kouga in order to use him to power Idea. Kouga's friends must then band together to save him.
Sworn Friends
Rei, Leo, Jabi, Rekka and Kaoru all head out to save Kouga; Ganon awakens and shows its true form.
Golden
Ganon has awakened. It's now up to Kouga, his friends, and an army of Makai Priests to stop it.
Era
The Makai Knights defeat Ganon, but Kouga still must honor his contract with Gajari. On his way home with Leo, someone arrives to greet him.
