Annie worries what Denis will do to the farm. Lynn offers to pay for Kathy's hair treatment as an apology for messing her hair up. Denis uses Henry to try to persuade the Sugdens to give up Emmerdale. Henry tells him to go away. Caroline and Alan angrily confront Denis when they find out their plans for Home Farm have been rejected. Jackie arrives back from his work trip as Kathy anxiously waits to find out if he she has got the milk recorder job. They're both overcome with disappointment when they discover Lynn got it. Denis arrives at the farm and angrily exchanges words with Joe. As he moves to leave, Joe's bull charges at Denis and pins him to the wall, crushing him. Joe drags Denis outside and discovers he's not breathing. Eric tells Alan that he's written out a contract regarding their business plan for Home Farm that Denis needs to sign. Denis is taken away in an ambulance.

The death of Denis raises awkward questions for Joe, but around Beckindale life goes on, with a surprise for Caroline - and an awful shock for Dolly.

Dolly tries to talk her way out of trouble, while Archie and Nick find the language barrier no problem in their pursuit of l'amour.

Dolly promises Ted she'll keep his secret in return for freedom - but will Dolly's promise be enough. Seth discovers that being a company director is hard work.

Dolly won't tell anyone what happened - but when Ted tries to contact her, the pressure mounts. Meanwhile, Rachel is growing up - a bit too fast for her mum's liking.

Dolly is upset by Matt's attitude to her ordeal, while Caroline tells Alan that as she wants to see less of him, he'll have to move in with her!

Two's company, three's a crowd, they say. Henry's would certainly agree and so would Nick, who decides to take drastic action when he discovers that Alan is planning to move back in with his mother.

Amos, Henry and Annie anxiously wait for news of Jack and Marian. Caroline packs to return to Scarborough with Alice. Rachel bumps into Pete as she leaves for school. He offers her a lift to school but she refuses. David is worried to find out that Rachel may be involved with somebody from Kate. Jack arrives at Emmerdale and tells Henry that Marian won't be returning. He explains that he gave Marian an ultimatum, having borrowed money from his landlord and booked tickets for the day before and told her that if she didn't turn up he was returning home without her. He tells Henry he's discovered Marian, Paolo and the children are holidaying in Capri.

After seeing the conditions of sheep in a Tate truck, Matt calls out the vet which causes trouble for Chris. Elsewhere, Sarah is surprised to learn of Jack's return whilst Joe proposes he buys Jack's share of farm.

Dolly informs Matt she wants a divorce. Elsewhere, Chris puts his foot in it with Kathy. Also, Rachel is devastated to learn Lynn's pregnant.

Chris involves the police, and his father Frank, in his and Matt's feud over the sheep. Elsewhere, the villagers speculate about the new owner of Home Farm. Also, Jack and Sarah reunite.

David is furious to witness Pete and Rachel kissing and attacks Pete. Elsewhere, Matt is upset by a letter from Dolly's solicitor. Plus, the villagers learn Frank Tate is the new owner of Home Farm.

Kate and Bill are shocked to learn about Pete and Rachel's affair. Elsewhere, Frank tells Matt about a job in Norfolk. Plus, Annie is disgusted to learn Jack has a job in a chip shop.

Matt informs Dolly he might be moving to Norfolk. Elsewhere, Jack takes an immediate dislike to his bullying boss. Also, Frank and Alan clash over their differing opinions whilst Kate warns Pete off Rachel.

Jack loses it with his boss and pours a container of baked beans over his head. Elsewhere, Amos ropes Frank into helping to organise the village play. Plus, Nick attempts to blackmail Alan.

Matt departs Emmerdale Farm for a new job in Norfolk. Subsequently, Joe agrees to give working with Jack another chance. Also, Amos decides on Dracula for the new year show.

Kim and Zoe Tate gallop into Beckindale but they're soon sent on a wild goose chase by Seth and Jock. Elsewhere, Jack suggests he and Sarah get a place together.

There's bad news at Emmerdale Farm when the hens test positive for salmonella. Also, Dolly interviews for the housekeeping job at Home Farm. Plus, Kate realises she's not happy with Joe anymore.
