Synopsis
The Rise of the Synths est un film documentaire de 2019 réalisé par Iván Castell et raconté par le cinéaste et compositeur John Carpenter. Le film explore les origines et la croissance du genre de musique électronique connu sous le nom de Synthwave, illustrant sa montée en popularité sur la scène musicale underground en ligne, à sa récente exposition grand public à la suite de son utilisation dans des bandes sonores à thème rétro, notamment le film Drive de 2011 et, plus récemment, la série télévisée Stranger Things.
